VintageWatercooleds.com Technotes :: ATS Technote - Installing European Headlights on Mk2 Scirocco

Well as the dream of upgrading and repairing my car continues, I managed to acquire a pair of eurolights on http://www.ebay.de/ for less than most pay for them.

Now that the lights arrived, I promptly open the box and begin to install the lights

Step one.. Remove the 2 screws located where the green arrows show you to remove the small plastic plate that is below the lights, this will permit you to remove the bottom screws on the frame
the circles indicate the 6 screws that need to be removed to remove the whole frame with the lights at all once.. no wasting time.. we got euro lights to install... chuckles.
Top view of the euro lights sitting on bumper as try to figure out the wiring for the side blinker.. eventually I realized that the USA plug (white adapter) for the blinker fits right into the slot of the euro-blinkers and used the 3 wire system instead of the 2 wires system.
This is the rear view of the High Beam, the arrow indicates the ground wire (brown)
Sand paper the contacts... yep this is the cleaning bit of the tech note (GRIN)
Split view of my car, US lights on the left and euro lights on the right.
Place the car 25 feet from a straight wall , align your low beam and high beam.. and here the final result... the lights completely installed.
